A Few October Favorites

A Few October Favorites

I just wanted to make a quick post for this morning talking about a few October favorites I have been loving. To be quite honest, I have never made a 'favorites' posts, because I feel as if the things I actually like and use a lot that month, others won't necessarily find interesting. However, put together a quick recap of this month's 'most-used' regardless.

This is really what I have been using repeatedly and loving this past month. Let me know in the comments what has been one thing you could not have lived without in October?

1. Beautycounter, Tint Skin Foundation and Volumizing Mascara

Color for foundation-  "Linen"

Color for foundation-  "Linen"

Tint Skin Foundation what I've been loving about it: This has been my go-to this past month. I hardly even reach for my BB cream anymore. It is always my top pick for everyday use, or for the occasional fancier looks. I love how natural and healthy it makes my skin look. It does have sort of a matte finish, at least to me when I apply it. But in the same light, it can make you look fresh and glowing. The color matches my skin perfectly, and it is buildable if needed. I like to only use a little, so that I don't hide my freckles.

Volumizing Mascara what I've been loving about it: How it makes my lashes feel, during and after application compared to other mascaras I've tried. It is buildable as well, while looking natural. It comes off fairly easily, and does not leave me with a 'crusty eye' feeling *any mascara that does not do that is a winner in my book.

I order all Beautycounter orders with Shannon. She has been amazing with helping me get the right products for my needs. You can find her here! at Beautycounter w/Shannon

2. Tartelette 'in bloom" eyeshadow palette

In Bloom Palette what I've been loving about it: Or should I say "what I've been (still) loving about it." This palette has been my bae for almost a year now. I don't have a lot of palettes, especially not eyeshadow ones. I am more of a find one you like, and use it 24/7 until it is GONE type of girl. What can I say?

I have successfully been able to utilize this for spring, summer, and now autumn looks as well. It easily transitions from season to season, and I have used every color at least a dozen times. (Most used colors are "Flower Child, Sweetheart, Jetsetter, Smarty Pants, Rebel, and Activist")

3. Rupi Kaur "Milk and Honey"

Milk and Honey what I've been loving about it: Okay, woah. Before my heart completely melts, let me just say. This was a birthday gift from my sister, (who always seems to know what I would like) but with this book she really nailed it. I was completely taken by surprise. The pure vulnerability of human pain and emotion came seeping out from these pages, and I couldn't be more fascinated. I almost feel as if I shouldn't be reading some of the words, because of the vulnerability. Her writing will hook you by the heart and demand your full attention.

It is easily one of the most beautiful books I've read so far.

4. Essential Oils, Frankincense and 'Clarycalm' blend

Frankincense what I've been loving about it: I have been on the essential oils train recently and I am not even ashamed. These are truly amazing, and I cannot sing their praise enough. They have been helping me loads with physical health, and mental clarity. I've been loving on the Frankincense firstly because I love the smell of it, but mainly because of it's anti inflammatory properties. My throat has been feeling swollen due to hormone imbalances (maybe TMI, I know) but using this oil has been a lifesaver. It also is really calming. Ahhh.

'Clarycalm' blend what I've been loving about it: This has been helping me for calming, and for hormone health as well. It does smell quite herby, but I'll take it considering what it does. I rub it on my wrists, temples, and stomach. Feeling stressed out? Clarycalm. Tense? Clarycalm. Hormonal? Clarycalm. It is worth the investment. I carry this one in my purse, and after I apply some, have ended up sharing it with multiple friends who ask me "what is that minty aroma?" (Lol) Once they rub it together in their wrists, their next reaction usually is a "Ooooo..." Then after a few minutes, their face and shoulders relax, their eyes soften and they say "hey.. what was that 'clary-something' again?"

Haha! And that is why I use them. *completely hooked. Not gonna lie.

If you are interested in essential oils and their benefits, I have been ordering with Jamie Reyes. (She is super sweet, and always patient to answer all of my questions whenever I speak with her) You can reach her at her website here! www.mydoterra.com/jamiereyes

5. NuNaturals, Stevia

www.liketoria.com/octfavs8

NuNaturals Stevia what I've been loving about it: I've been using stevia in my coffee and tea for months now. I used to hate the taste, but have become quite accustomed to it now. It is a sweetener made from a plant. It is completely natural, and is not like the other artificial processed sweeteners. It is more of a health food. This version comes in small packets, easy for travel. I also bake with this! It is absolutely perfect for when you wish to lower the sugar without lowering the sweetness.

6. Cookies and Tea

What I've been loving about them: Because it is fall, baking and endless cups of tea are most certainly in order. It makes any day a cozier one, even if it is still 100* outside in southern california. We can sort of pretend with a little baking and a cup of cozy right?

Below is one of my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes, by food blogger Chocolate Covered Katie. Read my post about it here!

7. Geri Scazzero "The Emotionally Healthy Woman"

www.liketoria.com/octfavs.9

The Emotionally Healthy Woman what I've been loving about it: This book is a must read. Even if you are not a woman (lol) you will benefit from working through this. I am reading it with two friends of mine. This book overflows with ways to deal with the emotions we feel, and how we react and internalize them in the wrong way. It explains eight things you must quit doing, to live a happier and more freeing life. This is good reading material right here. Need something to challenge your mind while you drink your afternoon coffee?

You've just found it.

These are just the things that I have been using this past month and have fallen in love with. Leave a comment below and share what your go-to's have been recently?

I'd love to know.

love,

toria.
