I love to write from personal experience, and lessons I’ve learned.  Along with the deep chats, expect the occasional post about travel, or other lifestyle activities I might be up to.

~A bit of who I am~

I'm just a lady who loves tea more than coffee, dancing with my headphones in, new cities, grey skies in california, and all the dark chocolate.

I'd love to get to know you!

5 Favorite Stress Relievers

5 Favorite Stress Relievers

With summer just around the corner, I wanted to share the five favorite items I have been using to keep me calm, and at peace when I'm on-the-go. Everyone always has places to be, family outings, day trips, vacations, and travel plans around the summertime. And after a while, the go go go mindset can be trying. A long day out full of seeing people, dealing with crowds, traffic, or even just the grumpy people you run into, can make anyone feel drained eventually. Below are some of my favorite items that make it into my bag, during the summer, and pretty much all year round.

A few of my current favorites

A few of my current favorites

We all have our own different things that keep us at ease during all the busy months. These are just some of my personal favorites. I find I really only carry one or two of these at a time.

All of these are easy to throw in your bag, purse, or backpack. I carry these with me to work at times, when I'm commuting, or just when I have a long day out.

You can find most of these on Amazon, Target, or your nearest health food store, as some of them are more natural remedies.

These are really easy to carry with you, and are perfect for days when you're on-the-go.

First up,

1. Tea Bags

Yep. Tea bags!! I always carry a pre-wrapped tea bag in my purse, wherever I go. Especially one that is stress relieving, or relaxing.

These are the two kinds of tea I've been using recently. Yogi Kava Stress Relief, and Stress Balance from Life Awareness.

Any type of Camomile and Yogi brand are my favorites. It might seem like a weird thing to carry, but you'll be grateful to have it when you're out traveling, or when you have a long day of classes. At any time, I know I have a cup of tea I can make, purely out of comfort. And the fact that It's calming helps too. It doesn't have to be a wind down tea either. I sometimes carry a caffeinated favorite too!

2. The Calm App.

My sister actually introduced this app to me awhile back, and I've used it ever since. You can really take this one anywhere with you, as long as you have your phone.

The calm app is a meditation and relaxation app free on iPhone, and android. This thing is amazing. It's easy for me to plug in my headphones, and turn on whenever I want. In the car, on a walk, sitting down. They have guided breathing exercises, guided meditation. It even has soothing backgrounds to choose from if you just want to swipe left or right to listen to those. My personal favorite, is the rain background. I also love when you open the app, and it's a calming blue screen that says "Take a deep B R E A T H" before it redirects you to the home menu.

I'll link it for you guys here if you want to check it out. I really love it.

Calm-meditation made simple.

3. Natural Remedies

These are something you can search for on Amazon, Target, Walmart, Sprouts, Clarks, ect. Check these out!

I usually prefer the liquid version of this, but these work just as well. And if you like a harder candy-like version, you'll love these!

Rescue Remedy Drops.

Dr. Christopher's "Relax-eze"

Lavender Essential oil.

Rescue Remedy is a all natural calming formula made from a blend of flowers, and herbs. It's very gentle, but it works! You can use it on pets, young children, and adults. It's about $10 dollars or so at Target. Same with Lavender essential oil, and 'Relax-eze' extract. Several times I've used these, they're easy to grab and go!

Watch out for what brand, and what quality the oil blend is. Some are not as pure, or are diluted a lot of the time. You might pay a little extra for a purer blend, but it's worth the $$ in my opinion.

These bottles are travel size friendly! There are tons of essential oils that come in smaller sizes, for even better space efficiency.

4. Grab that book.

It's amazing what a good read can do. Even If you're not a big reader (like me) it's can still be an instant escape for wherever you are! These are some of my favorites. I like how they're smaller than most, and can fit into my bag.

On the Left: This Modern Love by Will Darbyshire. A collection of real love letters, poems, confessions, heartache from individuals, and couples of all ages around the world. On the Right: Robert Frost collection of poems. A classic. Perfe…

Both books are Christmas gifts actually, and I've been loving on them since. They're both really comforting and soul nourishing to read.

And lastly,

5. Podcasts

For the longest time, listening to Podcasts seemed like such a boring thing to do. But once I actually started listening to some shows, they quickly became a favorite. I listen to them everywhere I go. Around the house, on a walk, in the car, even when I'm shopping. Yep. Especially then. Nothing better than a therapeutic Target session with your earbuds in listening to a good podcast. Sometimes I choose to listen to them over my music, which is saying a lot. I love my music. But Podcasts are quickly making their way up in my favorites.

Do you have any favorite Podcast shows? Send them my way! I'm always looking for new ones.

We all need a little more calm in our lives. And with everyone getting busier these days, it's good to know a few things that can help keeping everything rolling smoothly.

1. Tea Bags
2. The Calm App
3. Natural Remedies
4. Favorite Book
5. Podcasts

And those aren't the only things that keep me calm.

While taking these photos, this one decided to sit right in the middle of everything. She has a way of knowing when I get stressed out, and I wish I could take her with me. But not really, that hair is ever shedding.

I'm sure she's thinking horrible thoughts about me right now with those lights on her. What a good sport.

I'm curious to know what your favorites are!

What are some things that keep you calm?
